GTL Environmental, Inc
Project Overview
GTL Environmental (GTLE) provides integrated Gas to Liquid solutions through the GTLE value chain, providing equipment supply, and trusted partnerships through EPC joint ventures.
GTLE has selected Houston, Texas as the first of several Gulf Coast terminals. This site is well located on the Gulf Coast and access to petroleum sources and markets are readily available. Additionally, Houston is one of the largest Global Energy Hubs in the world.
GTLE has negotiated a purchase agreement with current ownership of a Biodiesel facility to obtain a letter of intent to purchase the facility and property of approximately 95 acres located within the Port of Houston complex. This property is on the waterway and has access to deep water and the Intracoastal Waterway. The terminal is designed for the storage and transfer of crude oil, natural gas liquids, and refined products. The terminal will consist of four barge loading facilities, a truck loading facility, and a rail loading facility. The terminal will have access to deep water berth that will accommodate the loading and unloading of Aframax size crude oil tankers (approximately 800,000-barrel capacity). This will allow crude oil to be transported to various markets. In addition, crude oil can be shipped to the US-Panama Energy Center and refined products can be returned to U.S. markets.

Timeline
To develop the Houston, TX Terminal, GTLE has selected Saipem Inc. a leading Engineering and Architectural firm to be the “Owner’s Engineer” of the project.
Phase 1 of the terminal construction will be completed in 4-6 months and will consist of 1,000,000 barrels of liquids storage, four barge docks, and a rail spur with loading/unloading facilities that will accommodate two-unit trains.
Phase 2 will provide an additional 5,000,000 barrels of liquids storage, truck loading facility and will be completed during the second (2nd) year.
Phase 3 will provide an up to an additional 2,000,000 barrels of liquids storage. At the completion of Phase 3 the terminal will have 9,000,000 barrels of liquid storage to be completed during the third year.
Partners
SAIPEM INC. - As a global solution provider in the energy and infrastructure sector, Saipem will be engaged with the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the plants, as part of the development and eventual implementation activities. Alboran Hydrogen, operating in the development of renewable projects, will take care to coordinate the technological aspects with the research institutes concerned, as well as of the authorization activities for the development of the plants, and of the supply chain agreements.
In December 2019, SAIPEM acquired the main assets and intellectual property portfolio of CO2 Solutions Inc. (CSI). The following document contains material to present CO2 Solutions Technology (CST) and its unique enzymatic capture technology as it was developed by CSI, in order to disseminate knowledge regarding the capture technology.
